In my opinion that is nothing worse than being hot. We live in central California and when my dh was in college we existed on $9,000 a year with 4 growing boys. One of the things we did to stay cool is freezer related but you have to have a little room in your freezer. Freeze a plastic dishpan full of water and then pop it out of the pan and turn it on it's side in the pan. Sit this giant ice cube in front of your favorite fan and cool an average room for the length of time it takes the cube to thaw. The thicker the cube is the longer it will last. I had several freezing all the time. It really works well and the freezer is running anyway. I have an electrical outlet on the porch where I can plug in my crockpot and my BBQ grill has a burner on the side where I can simmer something without heating up the kitchen.
